Core Measure Compliance
What Are Core Measures? Hospital Compare posts quarterly results reported by hospitals on quality measures for four diagnoses: AMI (Heart Attack), Heart Failure, Surgical Care Improvement Project and Pneumonia. Based on information from medical records, these core measures show the percentage of hospital patients who receive treatments known to get the best results for certain common, serious medical conditions or surgical procedures. The results also quantify how quickly hospitals treat patients with certain medical emergencies.
